A. Most bathroom projects cost between $3000 – $5,000 not including plumbing or fixtures, making us one of the most competitive in the industry. A fully itemised quote will be provided with all technical issues discussed before work begins to ensure you get the project done to your specifications, and in line with the requirements of the Australian Standards of Construction. The price will then be defined accordingly.
A. Waterproofing provides a barrier for water and moisture. The Australian Standard (AS 3740-1994) requires all wet areas to be waterproofed. During conveyancing the waterproof certificate is an essential document. This is why it’s important to hire a certified waterproofer, such as our team, to make sure the waterproofing requirements are done to code.
A. Floor tiles are generally tougher, to deal with the wear and tear and structural stresses. At Aquarius Productions our tilers are qualified to help you assess tile quality and help you choose a tile that is appropriate for its intended purpose. The sales staff at the tile shops can also assist with tile design and selection to ensure the tiles chosen are structurally appropriate for their intended use. We will liaise with these staff members to ensure the best advice is given.
A. You ideally want tiles that do not soak up water. These are known as vitreous or vitrified tiles, however a glazed tile will also do the job. Porcelain and ceramic tiles are one of the most popular choices due to their low absorbency and wide variety of shapes, colours and styles. When it comes to tile design, we like to work with our client’s ideas as the principal source to ensure a happy outcome. Selection and supply remains the responsibility of the client. AS3740 demands floors to include falls to the waste. As a consequence, bathroom floor tiles must be of a maximum size of 300 x 300. Using a smaller size allows the tiles to be laid with minimal lipping. The larger the tiles, the greater the lipping. So please ensure the floor tiles you choose are no larger than 300 x 300.
A. The type of tile you choose will depend on what the area is being used for, the style you want and your budget. Ceramic, travertine, vitrified, reconstituted stone and granite are all popular choices for patios, pool surrounds and other outdoor spaces. The client is responsible for the choice of tiles and the tiling design ideas.
